The Firm’s litigation attorneys regularly appear in the state, federal and administrative courts of the District of Columbia and Maryland including the Superior Court, the D.C. Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, the U.S. District Court of the District of Maryland, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Merit Systems Protection Board, the Provider Reimbursement Review Board, the D.C. Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs, the D.C. Department of Housing and Community Development, D.C. Office of Human Rights, D.C. Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration and various Advisory Neighborhood Commissions. If a case is centered in Virginia, the Firm will typically partner with local Virginia counsel, generally at no additional cost to the client.

When appropriate, we work with our clients to participate in alternative dispute resolution processes including mediation and arbitration. Proven negotiation and trial skills provide our clients with a significant advantage in settlement negotiations. The Firm’s defense work includes pre-litigation counseling to help clients assess risk and exposure, providing advice on litigation avoidance strategies and, if called for, conducting pre-suit negotiations.
