Timothy Kovanic is a senior paralegal at Alderman, Devorsetz & Hora PLLC. He reviews accounts to determine accurate balances in accordance with federal and District of Columbia law, as well as the associations’ governing documents. He communicates with various stakeholders, such as unit owners, title companies, realtors, attorneys and boards of directors regarding various condominium association, housing cooperative and homeowners association matters. He generates reports to association boards and their property management companies, assists with matters in litigation and – in consultation with the Firm’s attorneys – provides practical and sensible recommendations regarding recommended actions, such as litigation.

Before joining the Firm, Mr. Kovanic served as an engineering and legal officer in the United States Navy. Thereafter, he founded a company that provided telecommunication services to members of the United States military, where he regularly engaged in general business matters, state and federal regulatory matters and collections matters. Mr. Kovanic spent over ten years pursuing collections matters in over twenty-five U.S. state courts and Canadian provincial courts where he developed skills and strategies for successfully pursuing debt collection matters.

Mr. Kovanic is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering.
