Mr. Devorsetz, a co-founder of the Firm, represents individuals and organizations in real estate, employment and business matters.

Mr. Devorsetz primarily represents community associations (condominium associations, homeowners associations and cooperatives) and other organizations and businesses, including retail, hotels and restaurants in the Washington, DC area as their outside general counsel. Given its significance as a practice area, the Firm’s community associations practice provides turn-key representation, from interpreting and drafting condominium instruments and rules to assisting in disputes between associations and other parties, including those associated with one’s failure to pay condominium assessments.

Mr. Devorsetz forms businesses and assists a wide variety of organizations with their internal procedures and obligations. He counsels organizational clients on employment matters, key employee agreements and litigation avoidance strategies, and ensures that they are in compliance with laws that govern their operation.

Mr. Devorsetz is known for his ability to help clients overcome bureaucratic hurdles and difficult regulatory environments.

He serves as Co-Chair of the DC Legislative Action Committee of the Community Associations Institute (DC LAC), Chair of the DC LAC’s Homeowners Association Act Subcommittee, Co-Editor of the DC Bar’s Real Estate Practice Manual, President of the Federal Bar Association’s District of Columbia Chapter on two occasions (and continues to serve on its Board of Directors, and Chair of the Distinguished Lawyers Luncheon Committee) and is former Chairperson of the DC Bar’s Election Committee. Mr. Devorsetz has appeared on panels regarding community association law matters, and performs pro bono work for individuals and charities.

Prior to forming the Firm, Mr. Devorsetz practiced employment, corporate, customs and firearms law at two Washington, DC law firms.
