Civil Rights

Civil rights laws were enacted to protect the rights of individuals to receive equal treatment under the law.  Certain conduct or actions taken based on prohibited factors including a person's race, sex, age, gender, disability, religion, national origin and in some jurisdictions, sexual orientation, may constitute a violation of civil rights laws when it occurs within the context of education, housing, voting, employment or provision of public accommodation.

As a corollary to its employment law practice, Alderman, Devorsetz & Hora represents plaintiffs and defendants in civil rights matters.  With respect to its defense work, the Firm assists its business clients with complying with civil rights laws and defends them before administrative bodies and state and federal courts.  The Firm also represents individuals and groups subjected to deprivation of their civil and constitutional rights.
